European construction equipment industry shows presence at bauma China 2018.
This prize is coveted. The award is highly valued, even beyond the sector. Products that receive the Innovation Prize are considered pioneering. Entries have therefore once again been submitted by companies, universities and research establishments across Europe and beyond.
Demand of building material plants from Germany grew worldwide in 2017. In 2018 a double-digit order growth is possible.
The German construction equipment industry ended 2017 with turnover of 10.8 billion euros – an increase of 15 percent compared to the previous year. It is the fourth consecutive year of growth for the sector. Incoming orders were 19 percent higher by the end of the year. 2018 is therefore expected to be another good year, with the industry predicting an eight percent increase in turnover.
Since January 1st, 2018, Enrico Prandini is the new President of CECE. As previous First Vice President he succeeded Bernd Holz. The CECE presidency is a rotating post held for two consecutive years by each of the associations representing their member nations.


The Board of the VDMA Construction Equipment and Building Material Machinery Association unanimously elected Franz-Josef Paus (55), Executive Director of Hermann Paus Maschinenfabrik GmbH in Emsbüren, as their new Chairman for the next three years during their General Assembly in Düsseldorf.
The construction equipment and building material machine industry is performing well so far in 2017. “Although there is more chaos in the world today than ever before, we have thus far managed to cope with all the challenges that have come in rapid succession,” emphasized Johann Sailer, Chairman of the VDMA Construction Equipment and Building Material Machinery Association at the Association’s general meeting on October 26 in Düsseldorf.
Following a good start to the new year, the upward trend has continued both in the construction equipment and the building material machinery industry. The sector expects to increase its total turnover by 5 percent by the end of the year to around 14.6 billion Euros.
In order to carry out core-drilling work on construction sites exactly and with optimal results the core-drilling equipment used must be safely fastened to the ground. To give users an idea of the ideal fastening system the core-drilling equipment working group of the construction equipment and building material machinery association of VDMA, the German Engineering Federation, has now issued the information brochure entitled "Safe fastening of core-drilling equipment" in German and in English. The brochure is aimed at companies doing work in this field.
Despite all heterogeneity, German manufacturers of building material machinery are expecting a broadly based boost this year. Even at the end of 2016 the orders received in most subsectors had risen considerably compared with the previous year.
Canada is one of the world’s most important markets for the international construction machinery, building material plant and mining machine industry. It is the world’s seventh biggest construction machinery market.
In 2016, German manufacturers of construction equipment achieved a turnover of 9.3 billion euros which is an increase of 3 percent compared to 2015. Within the same period world sales of construction equipment declined by 1 percent.
